I've always wanted to make knives. I remember reading books on it when I was a little kid. Well, this last year I was getting ready for hunting and I couldn't find my favorite “Old Timer” blade. Looked all over the house, Nothing. I figured one of my girls had it in their hunting gear. I grabbed my old “Buck”, My bow and took off.
I never thought much of it until three weeks later I decided to shoot a big doe that came under my stand. As soon as I went for my knife I remembered what I had. I won this knife by registering a deer at a sporting goods store. It must have been from the 80's and no one wanted to buy it so they gave it to the next guy who came in the store. Me! It looks like Buck Knives answer to the Rambo era. Rubber handle, saw blade on top for cutting down Redwoods. What a pain in the ass. The rubber handle has no grip when you get tallow on it. It took me damn near a hour to gut that doe.
Anyways, I found my “Old Timer” the next spring under my rifle stand. All rusty. So I want to fix the Old Timer, and modify the Buck. Give them new handles. I'm going to start making my own and making some videos, put them on YouTube.
